Silent-auction winners get a chance to train with the team
It was on-the-job training with a difference for Atass employees Dr Stephen Buckley and Kyron Coulson, who hooked up with the Exeter City first-team squad.
Thanks to the generosity of the Managing Director of Atass Respect Ltd, Vanessa Cobb, who made the winning bid in a silent auction at the club’s end-of-season Gala Ball, they were invited to join in a morning’s training with the City side at the Cat & Fiddle training ground.
Whether by accident or design, they chose the day when the infamous ‘bleep tests’ were conducted, testing the stamina and recovery rates of the players.
Both Stephen (pictured right) and Kyron (left) performed brilliantly and earned high praise from the club’s coaching staff for their performance.
The guys enjoyed themselves as well and were particularly grateful for the friendly welcome given to them by manager Paul Tisdale, his staff and the players who all went out of their way to make the day an unforgettable experience for them.
Vanessa Cobb said, “I am very grateful to Paul and all the players who treated them both so kindly and made them feel very much part of the team on the day.”
Mark Jenkins, the club’s Senior Commercial Manager, who organised the silent auction and the day itself added: “Atass are a wonderful sponsor of the club and Vanessa is a very special person. The Atass lads performed brilliantly and Paul and his team were terrific ambassadors for the club. All in all it was a very special day all round, thanks to the efforts of everyone.”
