Charity enjoy day at the Park thanks to club's cider partner
Volunteers who give their time so freely and without charge for the much admired Dream-A-Way charity had a day out with a difference last Saturday when Exeter City played Mansfield Town β and all because of the generous donation of Thatchers Cider.
The Dream-A-Way volunteers, who are normally involved helping with days out and holiday breaks for other people as well as fund raising and donations, instead had a day out themselves when Thatchers Cider elected to donate its Ball Sponsorship to the charity with the aim of rewarding the people that make the award winning charity work so well for others.
The group had a great time and were particularly grateful to the West Country-based cider maker for such a generous gesture.
Jeff Merrett MBE (pictured centre), whose driving force has inspired the charity, said: βIt was a wonderful thought, one we are thrilled to have benefitted from. Thatchers are a family-owned, West Country company with local orchards in Devon as well as Somerset and wanted to show support for local activities. We thank them and their gesture has meant a lot to us.β
