Training ground hosting fundraising fixture
In support of the WaterAid Monze Appeal, a number of construction and design partners working on the South West Water H50 alliance have arranged a charity football match on Thursday 10th July at Exeter City’s training ground.
The event has been kindly sponsored by AECOM design consultants and has been supported by Exeter City FC, who have offered to host the game at the Cat & Fiddle.
“We were asked for advice with an ongoing leaking pipe problem at the Cat & Fiddle site which has has subsequently been fixed,” said Andy Woolston, of Balfour Beatty. “The H5O alliance were pleased to assist Exeter City with their leaking pipe and are grateful for the use of their facilities to raise valuable funding for a such a worthy cause as the WaterAid Monze appeal.”
The Monze Appeal is raising money for the 43,500 habitants of Monze, Zambia, where less than 3 per cent of the population has access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene and the goal is to provide 100 per cent coverage by 2016.
“We were delighted to put on the game at the Cat & Fiddle as the specialist skills of two of the construction companies involved in the tournament, Balfour Beatty and Kier, have assisted us considerably recently and we are extremely grateful for their help and advice,” said Clive Pring, Exeter City’s estates manager. “The WaterAid Monze Appeal is a very important cause and we wish them every success with their fundraising.”
