Local businesses support City’s work in the community
The very successful quiz night staged by the Exeter Estate Agents’ Association at St James Park recently raised a wonderful sum of money for the association’s chosen charities, which this year included Exeter City’s Football in the Community as well as for St Petrock’s, the Exeter charity for homeless people.
A record number of teams entered the quiz this year and raised hundreds of pounds for charity through the generosity of the companies and their employees.
Jamie Vittles collected the cheque for Football in the Community from Ivor Bull, of Cardens Estates. “We are so grateful to the association for their kind donation. Support like this means that we can continue to provide projects such as our Down’s syndrome football sessions, which receive minimal funding but are much appreciated by the participants,” Jamie said. “We would like to thank everyone involved who worked so hard to raise the money.”
Mike Henderson of Drew Pearce, who organised the evening, added: “The work that Jamie and his team does is inspiring and it has been a pleasure to help in this way. The association has, as one of its primary aims, a focus on raising money for deserving local charities and we not only had the pleasure of helping Jamie’s efforts and St Petrock’s, we also had a very enjoyable evening with the quiz, so we definitely came up with the right answers this time!”
