Lend a hand on Saturday to help your club
With Exeter City playing away this coming Friday, it leaves a blank Saturday for Grecian supporters. So why not come along to St James Park and join a working party to do some ground maintenance?A team of volunteers, led by Deputy Estates Manager Charlie Woolnough, will be repainting the steps leading up to the Stagecoach Family Stand in order to give a much-needed spruce up to the entrance. Work will begin from 8am and cease at 12pm on Saturday 4th October, so if you’re able to lend a hand, please come along between those hours. Pleasant weather is forecast.
You don’t need to bring any equipment or expertise as all the tools will be provided – just bring along some old clothes and plenty of enthusiasm. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, and refreshments will be provided in the form of bacon rolls and hot drinks.
No need to book yourself in – just turn up on the day and help to chip in for your club.
Charlie said: “This is a job that has needed doing for some time, but we have never had the manpower to take it on. So we’ll be delighted to welcome plenty of volunteers to St James Park to make a difference for their club while the weather is still in our favour.
“Every extra pair of hands will make a big difference for City and every contribution will be gratefully received. Getting the fans involved is hugely important as a supporter-owned club, and we’re hopeful that there will be a good turnout on the day.”
