A look at the man in the middle this weekend
TREVOR KETTLE is the man tasked with ensuring things don’t boil over in City’s FA Cup Second Round clash against Port Vale on Sunday. This weekend will be the experienced official’s first trip to St James Park since the turn of the year, when he presided over the 2-1 home defeat to Accrington.
In all, City have won two, drawn one and lost two of the five games that Kettle has taken charge of them in. The most notable victory came in April 2014, when a screamer from Craig Woodman and another from Jimmy Keohane secured City’s Football League survival and ended Scunthorpe’s twenty-six-game unbeaten record in the process.
Kettle has been in the middle for fourteen games so far this season, showing 62 yellow cards and six reds in that time.
