Matt won the opportunity to see the Grecians in training
THIS YEAR’S Exeter City Foundation ‘money can’t buy’ prize of watching the first-team training was won by long-term City supporter and Foundation member Jenny Webb.Rather than attend herself, Jenny passed the prize on to her son Matt, 23, who came along to watch a recent training session with pal Josh Denning (Matt is on the left of our picture).
Both lads are keen City supporters and saw plenty of the team in the Conference years, including that memorable trip to Old Trafford, but more recently Saturday afternoons have been taken up with playing themselves. They were particularly impressed with the intensity of the training session.
Matt said: “I particularly enjoyed the day as it was a specialised session for wingers and I'm hoping to be able to implement some of drills into my own training. I was impressed with both the sharpness of the players and also the willingness of the more experienced guys to take time and offer advice to the youngsters, in particular Joel Grant.”
Josh said: “I was impressed with the quality on show throughout the morning, as the players seemed to embrace the directions of Tis which hopefully transpires into more of the same on the pitch! We appreciated the warmth shown to us by all at the Club, especially Clinton, Steve (Perryman) and Tis.”
The session was rounded off with lunch with the players and coaching staff, where Matt and Josh were able to chat with manager Paul Tisdale on many topics, including the different challenge of the Emirates FA Cup First Round tie at Didcot.
Don’t forget, the Exeter City Foundation is a great deal, particularly for those who are regular supporters of the club. For just £10 per month, members are entitled to a discount on their season ticket, on top of a range of prizes.
The City Foundation draw runs throughout the year, and overall there are sixty-seven prizes – of which sixty-four are cash prizes – all of which mean that members have a GREAT chance of winning, and all winners are Exeter City supporters.
