Help support Bruce Henderson and Children's Hospice South West
EXETER CITY’s Business Development Manager Bruce Henderson has been taken to jail, but it’s all for a good cause as the long-serving Grecian is charged with raising £999 bail for his release with the funds going to Children’s Hospice South West.Whilst Bruce appreciates that normally his colleagues would prefer he stays locked up, he is hoping that as the money raised will go to CHSW, the club’s fans and corporate sponsors will relent and help set him free! (He of course has to reply on fans and corporate sponsors as he is well-known for having no friends).
Bruce was approached by CHSW to take part in the ‘Jail and Bail’ event, with a total of nine well-known business faces in the Devon area all tasked with raising their own ‘bail’ to be allowed out of their ‘cells’.
Bruce said: "I lost my wife and father to cancer. I know the devastation any form of terminal illness causes families, but also how crucial is the support of a hospice in such circumstances. When it comes to terminal illnesses in children, one’s heart goes out to not just the children but to their families and siblings. Here, the role of the hospice in the lives of the families involved is vital. Such facilities and skilled services cost money, and I am proud to be asked to help. I just hope that I can get let out though!"
As the ‘Jail and Bail’ day continues, there will be more pleas from the accused, who is currently claiming he is unfit to plead as he works for a football club, but in the meantime you can find out more of the charges against the alleged villain by heading here.
