Statement: Club investigating pitch invasion after Carlisle United League Two match

Fans urged not to enter the field of play at any time

Exeter City have been contacted by the Football Association with regards to the pitch invasion at the final whistle of our League Two match against Carlisle United on Saturday, May 6.

A number of home fans entered the field of play following the conclusion of the match and the club is now investigating the matter in order to provide a full response to the FA before the governing body decides what action it will take.

The club would like to remind supporters that any pitch incursion is a serious wrongdoing. It is a breach of ground regulations and also a criminal offence which, if found guilty of, will result in the application for a football banning order.

Fans entering the field of play are also doing so at the detriment of Exeter City as it can lead to club being fined or sanctioned. As a supporter-owned club, we would urge fans to consider this as well as the likelihood of a football banning order before engaging in such destructive and harmful actions in the future.

Any fan that has information with regards to the pitch invasion on Saturday, May 6, is also asked to contact the club on 01392 411243 or email reception@exetercityfc.co.uk.
