The latest update on the St James Park redevelopment from the club board.
The new CHANGING ROOMS were handed over to the club on October 13. Under the contract the land behind the Thatchers' Big Bank has now transferred to the developers with the existing toilets and refreshment cabin disconnected and removed.
The FLOODLIGHTS on the temporary pylon along with the new lights on the Big Bank were used for the first time at the Luton Town match.
The new DUGOUTS are now in use. A few minor problems have been encountered due to the tightness of space on the touch line. We will see how the new layout settles down for the rest of the season and if needed make changes in the summer.
The Phase 1 works are now all complete. The new BIG BANK TOILETS are in operation and the temporary facilities installed by the Jungle Path.
We are aware of significant congestion around the refreshment cabin by the new toilets and will be looking at temporary solutions. An additional refreshment outlet will be provided on the Triangle as part of the Phase 2 works and the extra capacity should solve the problem.
The internal strip out of the STAGECOACH STAND is complete and the external demolition started this week.
We expect the demolition to be largely finished by late November. The piling will then commence in the middle of December. Under the current programme we anticipate that it will be finished by Christmas. This will enable the pile caps and ground beams to start on the construction industry return to work in January.
The buildings on the TRIANGLE have been removed and it is likely that the drainage and retaining wall works in this area will start towards the end of November.
