The club has the following statement with regards to safety at today’s match between Exeter City and Crewe Alexandra.
In light of the recent incidents on the tube in London and other incidents around the UK and across Europe people will be aware that the national threat assessment for the country is critical, which means that a terrorist attack is imminent nationally.
The club continues to work with Devon & Cornwall police and the security services to understand what the threats are to our venue.
The threat level to our venue remains unchanged. However, there will be a higher police presence at venues across the Devon & Cornwall police area including at today’s fixture St James Park where you will see a heightened level of police activity as you arrive and leave the ground.
This is to reassure you and to keep you safe at the game today. We urge all supporters to be vigilant, to avoid bringing bags to the ground where possible and to expect searches on entering the stadium. We would also advise at the ground as early as possible.
