🍽 Exeter City Academy team up with MyNutrition

The Exeter City Academy have teamed up with local meal prep and delivery service ‘MyNutrition’ to provide the players with high quality, nutritious meals that supplement their training schedule and help enhance performance and recovery.

Harry Knapman, head physiotherapist at the Exeter City Academy said: “At the back-end of last season we explored some options to provide our players with food as we don’t have the facilities or staff at the training ground.

“We found MyNutrition who are a local meal prep and delivery service. They gave us an idea of what they could offer and an individualised tailored menu. After we tasted a few samples it was a no-brainer.”

MyNutrition was founded in early 2018 to specifically provide high quality meals that help clients to achieve their goals, whether this may be performance or fitness related or even simply for peace of mind when wanting to adopt a healthy diet amongst a busy schedule. They now offer well over 50 meal options.

Lloyd Martin, co-director of MyNutrition said: “We are thoroughly enjoying the partnership with Exeter City. We’ve been providing meals for five or six weeks now. The boys really like the food.

“The macronutrient content is good, there are high levels of protein, good sources of carbohydrates and most importantly, great flavour.”

Nutrition plays a huge part in the development of athletes as well as helping play a key role in recovery. Harry added: “Our players are on a full-time training model, so it is important that they eat well and recover well between sessions, so they can train at high intensity throughout the week, on a daily basis.”

The staff at MyNutrition value the importance of positive health and well-being, understanding that in a world of increasing obesity with health-related issues deriving from poor diet and nutrition their role is to actively encourage a healthier lifestyle by making Smart food choices more accessible for all.

The Academy currently have specially chosen a six-meal menu, and food choices are made online a week in advance. MyNutrition deliver the meals on a Monday and a Thursday. The food has a three-day shelf life making sure it is fresh. After six weeks the menu is adapted so the players can access different meals.

MyNutrition’s qualified professional chef carefully selects a wide range of ingredients in order to create some fantastic healthy meal options along with custom sauces, seasonings and vinaigrettes.

All of their meals are high on protein therefore promoting the growth and development of lean muscle tissue.

The meals have proved highly popular with the Academy players. Striker Theo Simpson has been impressed with the quality of the food.

“The food is really nice the boys really enjoy it. The Chili is the favourite all the boys like it and a few get it every day.”
