Barry Wilson was first out of the hat for 2018, winning a cool £1000 as the Exeter City Foundation’s first winner of the year, seen in our picture receiving his cheque from Operations manager Andy Gillard on the pitch during the match against Coventry.
Barry has been a City supporter for over 50 years now, being taken along to his first match against Swansea, if his memory serves him right when he was very young, by his father.
He is now a season ticket holder on the Big Bank and delights, in turn, in taking his son along to matches, although most of these are away from home as his son now lives up-country. He has great memories of City’s FA Cup run in the early 80s, particularly matches against Leicester and Newcastle.
The money of course, most welcome at this time of year, helping to lift the gloom post-Christmas - will go towards a holiday in the sun this summer!
The Exeter City Foundation is a great deal, particularly for those who are regular supporters of the club. For just £10 per month, members are entitled to a range of prizes and, if a season ticket holder, the additional benefit of cash back or a voucher for the ECFC Shop.
The City Foundation draw runs throughout the year, and overall there are sixty-seven prizes – of which sixty-four are cash prizes – all of which means that members have a GREAT chance of winning, all winners are Exeter City supporters and net proceeds go to good causes at the club.
