The Foundation’s BIG prize winner for May is Martin Sprague, who was presented with his winnings during a busy half time programme at the home leg of the play-offs against Lincoln City.
Martin (and son) can be seen receiving their prize from City's operations manager Andy Gillard in the picture above.
Martin has supported City since he was a teenager and has watched City from ‘all around the Park’, witnessing many great games. The one that truly stands out is the 1981 cup replay victory over Newcastle, which the Grecians won 4-0, with a packed St James park providing a great atmosphere that evening.
Another fond memory is the play-off semi victory against Torquay United, not forgetting the play-off between Carlisle United that had it ALL, great atmosphere, nerve racking moments and also great relief with celebration of Jack Stacey’s winner.
Martin has very generously donated part of his winnings to the Academy, thanks very much for that, Martin! There is enough left over to help towards Martin’s planned holiday in Scotland later this summer.
The Exeter City Foundation is a great deal, particularly for those who are regular supporters of the club. For just £10 per month, members are entitled to a range of prizes and, if a season ticket holder, the additional benefit of cash back or a voucher for the ECFC Shop.
The City Foundation draw runs throughout the year, and overall there are sixty-seven prizes – of which sixty-four are cash prizes – all of which means that members have a GREAT chance of winning, all winners are Exeter City supporters and net proceeds go to good causes at the Club.
