The next meeting of the Senior Reds will take place on Thursday, January 24 in the RGB Legends Lounge at St James Park at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Following the success of the December meeting, where memories of the 1969 cup run, culminating in the game against Manchester United were shared, the Senior Red's have decided to do one more along the same lines.
This time they will be moving on some 30 years to a period which will cover some of City's harder times as well as the more recent visit to Old Trafford and the subsequent replay.
Alan Banks was special guest at the last meeting, givingan insight into the 1969 cup run from the players perspective.
For January's meeting, the Senior Reds will be joined by Sally Cooke who, as mentioned below, played an active role within the club, and who will be able to recount various stories about her time working behind the scenes.
The meeting will be chaired by Dave Phillips, who has provided the following background on Sally:
Sally Cooke has been a fan, volunteer and employee of Exeter City for many years. She first started attending St. James Park with her father, Victor Phillips during the 1960s and 70s, usually sitting in the Old Grandstand, where he had a season ticket.
Later after having two boys she began volunteering with the junior Grecians, then got busy helping at the training ground with various jobs including washing the kit.
As time went on she got more involved with the club, serving as club secretary for many years, including the time we dropped out of the league, the matches against Manchester United and the first two play-off finals at Wembley.
She has many stories to tell of her time with the club, including working with no less than 8 managers and a trip to London with Eamon Dolan to collect Michael Jackson.
This will be a very informal evening with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share our own memories of supporting the club.
Please join us if you can. All are welcome.
