At Exeter City Football Club we are putting further measures in place to protect our club during this time of great uncertainty.
We have already taken several steps to safeguard the club’s finances, reducing our outgoings and furloughing the majority of our St James Park-based staff through the Government’s Job Retention Scheme.
Talks are continuing between the Premier League, EFL and PFA and other governing bodies and we await their statement which will inform decisions for us and all clubs across the football leagues. As soon as the implications for their decisions can be understood for our club, we will issue a further update.
In the meantime, further measures include agreement by those Exeter City FC club directors who receive reimbursement for their roles to not take any payment during this period of uncertainty. A small number of club board members are paid for the services they deliver; trustee-appointed directors do not receive payment at any time.
Nick Hawker, chair of Exeter City Supporters’ Trust, said: "We have all pulled together to make decisions which are in the interests of the club at this time. Ironically, everyone on the club and trust board is working harder than ever, so we are grateful for those who do receive reimbursement for their services, for their understanding and agreement not to take payment for their services at this time."
