Exeter City Women have boosted their squad with the signing of Connie Pengelly.
Connie, a striker, is another product of the club’s girls’ development centre and has impressed in training with the first team with her powerful and direct play. She follows in the footsteps of Georgie Barbour Gresham, Daniella Tyson, Mia Preston, Sasha Henderson and Emily Saunders who have all graduated from the girls’ development centre to play for the Exeter City Women’s first team.
Speaking about the signing, player and joint-manager, Abbie Britton, said: “We are delighted that Connie has chosen to sign for us. She is a powerful and direct striker, who plays with no fear and has a real eye for goal. Her development over the last two years at the girls’ development centre has been clear to see, her work rate and desire is a real quality of hers. The quality is there to be seen, she has already trained with the first team squad and already has become a valued member of the team. I am very excited for the remainder of the season for Connie.”
Speaking about the the girls development centre, City Community Trust's Catherine White, said: "We are extremely proud to see another player from the girls development centre progress to the women's side. The centre is in it's third season this year and we are striving to ensure more players successfully complete our pathway and continue enjoying their football to the highest level."
