📝 Coronavirus match postponements: Frequently asked questions

Following the EFL’s decision, with the FA and Premier League, to suspend football fixtures in response to the recent coronavirus outbreak until April 30 at the earliest, we have put the following article together to try and answer any questions you may have in regards to Exeter City.

What Exeter City games have been postponed?

The rest of Exeter City's matches until the end of the season have been postponed. Since the EFL, FA and Premier League's original decision to suspend football until April 4, we have already seen our home matches against Salford City (March 14) and Scunthorpe (March 17) not take place on their original scheduled date.

The same will apply for all of these first team fixtures
March 23: Plymouth (A)
March 28: Bradford (H)
April 4: Cheltenham (A)
April 10: Morecambe (H)
April 13: Mansfield (A)
April 18: Carlisle (H)
April 25: Leyton Orient (A)

All our academy fixtures and our match against Newcastle United in the under-23 Premier League Cup have also been postponed.

Will these games be rearranged for a later date?

These games have been postponed, not cancelled, and the plan is for these fixtures to be scheduled to take place at a later date. We do not have any information as to when these dates will be and will be waiting for guidance from the EFL on this. We will update you with any news when we have it.

Will the ticket I have purchased for the match be valid for the rearranged date?

Yes.

If I cannot make the date of the new fixture, will I be able to get a refund?

Yes. However. we would encourage supporters to hold onto their ticket for the matches mentioned above and wait for the date of the rearranged fixture to be announced before seeking a refund. Our policy with regards to refunds for matches can be found under section four of our ticketing terms and conditions here, but please be aware – as we are encouraging our staff to work from home due to the coronavirus outbreak – our club shop and reception will be closed until further notice. We would ask our supporters to be patient with regards to refunds and email tickets@ecfc.co.uk if they have any questions/queries.

Will the club be open during the postponement period?

The club shop and reception will be closed until further notice. Please do not visit St James Park during this period. We would encourage supporters to keep an eye on our social media channels and website for further information and updates.

I have ordered something from the shop, but the shop is closed. Will I get my order?

The shop is closed until further notice so no orders will be fulfilled until that changes. If you would like a refund contact clubshop@ecfc.co.uk.

Is Exeter City's Awards Evening on Saturday, April 18, still going to go ahead?

No, we have cancelled this event. Anybody who has bought a ticket will receive a refund in due course and do not need to contact the club.
