Matt Taylor called Exeter City's 1-0 win over Salford City 'ugly' but says it was a much needed and deserved three points.
Matt Jay's 16th league goal of the season secured three points for City, who came into the game on the back of three straight defeats, and Taylor was pleased with his side's response.
"It was time for an ugly win I think. Getting ahead was so so important," he said.
"That was totally different to Tuesday night but it was a much better outcome for us. MJ has been caught up in a mess in the middle the whole game but he had his one moment.
"We were up against the biggest budget in the league today, and we've matched them. I'm really pleased."
