Exeter City's head groundsman Chaz has provided his latest update, as pitch renovations head into day eight at St James Park.
The work with the gravel bands and drainage lines has now been completed and attention has now turned to putting the Fibresand into the surface.
"The fibresand is the same as the other sand, but the fibres mixed in hold the sand together like having an artifical root in the surface.
"When the grass is struggling the fibres in the sand hold it together so we are able to have a firm, smooth surface all year round.
"The key thing for us is we will be able to have a surface that when it's really wet won't move all over the place which makes it nearly impossible to grow natural grass.
