Matt Taylor felt Exeter City earned their luck as a dramatic last-minute winner saw the Grecians leave Salford with all three points.
Speaking after the game the manager said:
"It was a fantastic effort from Jake Caprice but in terms of the whole game I thought we desereved the little bit of luck needed for the winner.
"Towards the end we regained control of the ball, got in better positions and we felt a moment like that was coming. Im really pleased for Jake because he capped off a fantastic performance!"
"It's really pleasing that goals are now coming from across the pitch now rather than just the regulars."
On Matt Jay's opener the gaffer continued:
"I think we need to score more of those goals. More of the simpler ones. We can create more openings and chances which this squad will take because its got goals in it."
