Matt Taylor has given an honest assessment as City fell to their first defeat of the League One season.
Two headers from Sam Smith and Paul Digby saw Cambridge United seal a 2-1 win, coming from behind following Jevani Brown's opener, and Matt felt his side struggled as the game came to an end.
"We ran out of steam and we ran out of quality - we didn't show much quality throughout the game in all honesty," he said.
"We had moments of attack, but as the game went on we lost control of the ball too often, gave it away too cheaply and became predictable.
"Cambridge have a slightly stronger squad and impact players. We didn't use our key moments well enough."
