A group of young rugby players from mid Devon are the 22nd sports group to be awarded £500 in our We Win You Win competition.
Tiverton under-9s were selected in the competition, which sees club sponsor Carpetright donating £500 to a south west sports club every time Exeter City wins a match.
Joanna Thomas from Tiverton under-9s said the group would use the donation to invest in some new equipment.
She added: "This year is our first year of playing contact rugby. As a team we are all really enjoying the transition from tag into the next phase of our learning. As a team we can borrow equipment from the older age groups, but we would absolutely love to invest in some new equipment specific to our age and ability. This will really help accelerate our learning and grow our confidence at such a crucial step in the game.
"Naturally this equipment will have a great life cycle and we will be able to hand this on to our current under-8’s when they move into contact training next season.”
She added: “With the cold wet nights drawing in it would be great to make sure all of the team have the right kit for the weather. All players have to fund their own training kit so the £500 would go towards insuring all of our players feel included, are safe and warm and are seen as one team.”
Our next victory means it could be a win for your team! To enter, send your pitch to Carpetright, explaining who you are, why you deserve help and how £500 could help you to keep winning. Email entries must be no more than 350 words and should be sent to wewinyouwin@carpetright.co.uk
