On Tuesday, Tim Dieng surprised season-ticket holder Matt Jones with some special Christmas gifts at his home in Exeter.
Matt, who is sadly suffering with cancer, has been unable to attend matches this season due to his ill-health.
We first heard Matt's story from his wife Julie at our Princesshay signing event. By chance, Julie was stopped by Media Officer Craig Bratt to ask if they'd like to meet some of the players, and despite her initial cautiousness at 'not knowing any of them,' she soon revealed how much her husband would have loved to have been there, telling us of his ill-health.
We were delighted to be able to get a signed ball for Matt, as well as some other festive goodies from the club shop to take to him at his home just a mile from St James Park.
Tim surprised Matt who was stunned to see - by chance his favourite player - at the front door.
Everyone at Exeter City wishes Matt the very best for his recovery and hope to see him at SJP again soon. He has assured us he will not be missing the Devon Derby in April!
Merry Christmas, Matt ❤️
