Matt Taylor is focussed on results not performances as he evaluates City's injury time exit from the Papa John's Trophy.
City conceded two goals in the last three minutes to succumb to defeat at the hands of Portsmouth and the manager was frustrated with the result.
"I thought the players on the pitch were fantastic but at the end of the day its a results based game, and I've said that too many times over the last few weeks. That last five minutes was so disappointing."
"We were playing against higher level opposition and we had to respect Portsmouth, who had the better of the ball in the first half. But that second half we got control of the ball, we had more purpose and we created some good chance. We should have been ahead sooner, but the result feels so raw right now."
After disruption to the squad due to injury and Covid-19, Taylor feel his strongest possible team is becoming clearer.
"These past two games have given me more clarity on how I want the team to play. There's been a freshness amongst the teams, whether thats the young players coming through, or how mobile we've been. But I have been impressed with the last two games."
