Work has begun on the new facilities at the Cliff Hill Training Ground with the excavations for the surface water drainage underway.
The latest images from the training ground show the excavations taking place, under the scrutiny of archaeologists.
Once complete, this work will be immediately followed by the work to construct the foundations for the ยฃ3million building, whichis being constructed off-site using modern modular construction techniques. It will be transported and erected at the training ground and will replace the existing dilapidated building, which was constructed in 1974 as a temporary structure.
It is anticipated that the foundations will be completed in July. Following this, there will be little visible activity on site until mid-October, whilst the building is manufactured offsite. The development will provide a new and larger fitness suite, separate canteen facilities, larger changing and physiotherapy facilities, improved office accommodation and multi-use theatre/match preparation/classroom space. The project is expected to be complete by the end of January 2023.
