Actor and comedian David Earl has spoken exclusively to the club about his new found love for Exeter City, following the success of the My New Football Club podcast.
Along with fellow After Life star, Joe Wilkinson, who is a Gillingham fan, Earl started 'My New Football Club' in October following his relocation to Devon when he chose the Grecians having consulted friends over which club to support.
"I moved down here with my family last March. I'd always supported Man United but I'd never watched them, so I wanted to follow a team and realised I wanted to have that ritual of watching live football on a Saturday afternoon," Earl said.
The 'Derek' actor attended his first fixture in October when City drew 2-2 with Newport County and he soon fell in love with the club, purchasing a season ticket shortly after.
"I haven't missed many home games since then. I absolutely loved it. I'm not used to watching football with thousands of people and as soon I walked to my seat and saw the pitch and crowd, I loved it.
"After that Newport game I came on my own and I wondered if I was doing the right thing, but then you get to know the players and know the people around you."
