Manager Gary Caldwell has shared City's travel plans for the long trip north to Carlisle this weekend.
The Grecians will depart on Thursday and train in the north-west, before continuing further towards Cumbria on Thursday evening ahead of Saturday's match.
"We are trying to look after the players the best we can," Gary said.
"We will travel this afternoon to fantastic facilities at Mottram Hall and then onto North Lakes in Penrith in order to get the players as ready as they can be for the game.
"It allows us to get most of the way on Thursday and then rest and recover, then tomorrow we can train and it's relatively short journey to Carlisle. It's the best way we can do it. Both hotels have excellent facilties, and doing it this way gives us our best chance at being at our peak on Saturday."
Carlisle drew 1-1 with Wigan on Tuesday, and Caldwell added that he had been in contact with his former club about the threats Carlisle may pose.
"I've not spoken to Shaun [Maloney, Wigan manager and Gary's former assistant] but I spoke to Graham Barrow and had a debrief after their game, and I have watched the game back and another of theirs. We know what to expect and we are fully prepared."
