One of our Own, Josh Key made a special visit to North Devon Hospice on Monday, to say thank you for all they do, as part of eBay's championing small business project.
The City defender visited the Hospice armed with a box of Grecian goodies for the staff and paitents and took a tour of the hospice, finding out more about how they support local people who are affected by a life-limiting illness.
North Devon Hospice, based in Barnstaple, care for around 3,000 people every year, offering specialist care to patients at home and at the hospice, while supporting the whole family throughout these toughest of times
Speaking about the visit, Josh said: "It was a really eye-opening experience which has really changed my view on what Hospices are and what they look like.
"You sort of view them as sad places where people come to die, but I saw the joy in life that they bring to people in their last moments, and the care they give to the families that come here so it was really eye opening.
"I met Bob who said he played at Portsmouth and is an Exeter Fan and Leeds fan, it was great to speak to him about the club and football.
"If people have bad views about a Hospice they really need to visit as it's a happy place."
