Exeter City FC have published their accounts for the year ending June 30, 2023
The year under review saw the key milestone of twenty years since the Exeter City Supporters Trust aquired the majority shareholding in the fooballl club.
And it was a year that these financial statements saw much change. We achieved our primary objective of retaining EFL League One status, following a change of manager mid-way through the season, together with a number of subsequent staff changes. The appointment of Gary Caldwell as first team manager has seen change on the pitch, whilst our strategic focus off-field remained on financial stability, fan engagement, and the development of a strong Academic-led future pipeline of talent.
Nick Hawker, Club and Exeter City Supporters' Trust Chair has provided the following message:
"As important as our financial results are, and even as impressive as they are, it is important that we do not lose sight of the incredible contribution made by our investors… our supporters… our fans.
"I sincerely believe you are the reason we are able to attract 1st class sponsors, you are the reason we continue to produce outcomes beyond what might reasonably be expected given our constraints, and you are the reason everybody involved with Exeter City FC are driven to achieve still more.
"Many of you, of us, invest our time and our energy to ensure our ongoing success and sustainability. Whether we sit on boards, collect litter around the stadium post-match, provide an ambassadorial role for visitors to St James Park, raise money, or any of the myriad of ways help and investment is offered - you are incredible and a shining example of supporter ownership. Long may that continue.
"My sincere thanks to both Boards, who are volunteers themselves, and to the entire ECFC family – all of the non-playing staff, the Academy, the Exeter City Community Trust, and of course, the first team players and support staff.
We own our football club and are indeed, no ordinary club! Come on you reds!"
