Following City's 3-0 defeat at the Valley, Alex Hartridge gave his reaction.
Three goals for the hosts - one in the first half and two in. the second - condemned Exeter to defeat in a game that Charlton largely dominated, something that the defender wasn't happy about.
"So much to unpack but generally just not good enough, both halves looked different in terms of the game but in neither we managed to imprint ourselves onto that game."
Alex was keen to point out though that the City players believe in their quality, even against opponents of a higher stature.
"They're a team that are playing their way up the table in a real simple manner and we're not," said Alex.
"When they've got that quality they're more confident players but we need to do something to get a foothold in the game and control the games, and we can do that."
