Prior to tomorrow's Bristol Street Trophy opening fixture against Swindon Town, PDP coach Dan Green sat down to share his thoughts.

While the Trophy is often used to rotate teams and give players the opportunity to gain vital minutes, Dan stressed the importance of continuing the momentum from Saturday's league victory away at Bolton.

"We need to back up Saturday's performance with another one that solidifies and ingrains some of the habits that we're trying to implement," Dan explained.

"That's what we'll be using tomorrow night for."

Dan led a young side away at Bromley last week in the under-21 Premier League Cup, however he stressed that it's not guaranteed that they'll all start in tomorrow night's match, and they'll all have to earn their chance.

"They have to earn the opportunity because with young players, ultimately what you're trying to do is lay the foundations for a long and positive career.

"That foundation has to be laid on the fact that they have to earn that opportunity, and that we have to have space to give them that opportunity."

"I think a player will be more likely to take it and perform well if they've earned that and they're in a positive vein of form themselves."
