Jack Fitzwater labelled City's 1-0 win against Cambridge a defender's "dream" after he made his first League One appearance of the season.

After Tristan Crama reported ill this morning, Jack was brought into the starting lineup at short notice into the middle of a back three. However, while there was a change at the back City still kept their fifth clean sheet in a row in all competitions, and Jack enjoyed being back out on the pitch.

"It's a centre-half's dream that game," Jack said. "Probably not so great for the neutral, people might be pulling their hair out but it's all action."

"You can't really take a moment to breathe but the boys dug in deep and we got a well-deserved three points."

The difference in the game was Ryan Woods' goal midway through the first half, and Jack said he showed his quality with that strike into the top corner.

"It was a great finish, it just dropped to him nicely on the half volley. Everyone's laughing because he said he didn't  know how to celebrate because it's been seven years since his last goal.

"I'm delighted for him, he's instrumental to how we play on and off the ball, in the dressing room he's great, so long may it continue and hopefully he can score a few more."
