Defender Will Aimson joined the Grecians in January 2023.

Will arrived at the club with a lot of experience of League One football to the Grecians. He began his career at Eastleigh before signing for Hull City. Loan spells at Tamworth, Tranmere Rovers and Blackpool would follow before Will made the permanent switch to the Seasiders where he was part of the team that defeated City in the League Two play-off final in 2017.

Will would then join Bury for a season before signing for City’s neighbours Plymouth Argyle on a two year deal where he made forty appearances in League One. Will then signed for Bolton Wanderers in 2021 where he has made another 35 League One appearances.

In 2023/24 Will, who was named team captain, made a total of 43 appearances. He scored a total of five league goals - his best ever scoring season - and was named the club's player of the month for March by the fans - netting three of those goals in the final nine matches.
