The winner of the Foundation’s monthly prize of £1,000 for October is David Coard.
The winner of the Foundation’s monthly prize of £1,000 for October is David Coard, who is pictured receiving his cheque from City Social Media Officer Harrison Beer before the game with Crewe Alexandra. He is going to use the money to pay for next year’s season tickets. David was on the board of Exeter City Community Trust for many years as well as helping at the former Centre of Excellence and can be seen in the photo below at top left.
David has many good memories of supporting City, “I first saw Exeter City at the beginning of the 1966/67 season as a 16 year old teenager and, despite moving all over the country, I have never wavered in my support for The Grecians. Favourite players would be Steve Flack, Alan Banks, Ollie Watkins, Ryan Harley, Steve Tully and the late, great Kevin Miller."
"Like many supporters, my favourite match was the one against Manchester United in the 3rd round of the FA Cup in January 2005 together with the replay as well as the game at Sheffield when City beat Rotherham to win promotion thanks to Richard Logan. I should probably add to those games, the whole experience of travelling with other supporters to Brazil in 2014 following in the footsteps of the players 100 years earlier.”
