Friends and colleagues of Kevin Miller are taking part in Exeter City Community Trust’s Halloween Run on Sunday, October 25 to raise money to support Kev’s family after his sudden and tragic death in September.
The group will include members of the coaching and management staff at City and every donation goes towards funeral costs and practical help for those closest to him.
Kevin was an incredibly popular figure during his time at St James Park, earning a place in the hearts of supporters with his performances between the posts and his wholehearted commitment to the club and is missed by everyone who had the honour to know him.
Speaking on the fundraiser, Kevin Nicholson said: "It's a way that we can raise some much needed funds for the family at this really deeply sad time. It's nice for us to be able to come together and do something that is community based with everything that's happened over these last few weeks, to be able to kind of try and contribute something towards Fiona and Esme, his wife and daughter.
"There's nothing that we can do that's going to make it any easier for them or any better. But if we can raise these funds, if we can put something towards them, if we can help them with the costs that arise at such an awful time, if we can take a little bit of pressure off them, and if things go really well, and I'd like to think that the football community out there could kind of dig deep and get together and make a real difference."
If you are able to, please give what you can. Every contribution, large or small, will make a real difference to his family at a difficult time. Please share the page too; it all helps!
We thank everyone that has generously donated so far, with the total over £6,175 as of Monday, October 19.
