Match Preview Burton

Exeter City will be looking to make it a Good Friday as we host Burton Albion at SJP this Friday in a 1pm kick-off in EFL Sky Bet League One.

The Grecians will be full of confidence after Saturday's fine 2-1 win away at Bristol Rovers, thanks to Caleb Watts and Reece Cole's stunner.

City host a Burton side that are scrapping for their lives and sit just outside the relegation zone thanks to Saturday's impressive 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town. When the sides met earlier in the season, Millenic Alli scored a worldie as City picked up a 2-1 win back in December.

There are limited tickets remaining! Your support makes all the difference at the Park, so grab your tickets and make some noise for the Grecians on Friday!

Mind Over MND.

Good Friday's fixture against Burton Albion on Good Friday, April 18 at St James Park will see Exeter City raise awareness of the Mind Over MND campaign.

The statistics are stark. For every 10,000 people, 33 will be diagnosed with MND. This means that when SJP is at total capacity of 8,600 – 25 people in the stadium will receive the devastating diagnosis.

And it’s not just something that happens to other people. Pete Eveleigh, Exeter City Community Trust's former inclusion officer, was diagnosed with the disease in November 2022. Since his diagnosis, Pete, his wife Jess and loyal friends have worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease.

Find out more about how we are raising awareness, and how you can get involved, here.

Phil Smyth returns

After the match, Phil Smyth returns by popular demand to perform a set in the Centre Spot. He went down a treat recently at the Shrewsbury Town and Wrexham matches and will be here to provide some post-match tunes!

Burton Albion 1 Exeter City 2  | 21/12/24 | Sky Bet League One

The Grecians won in League One for the first time since early November as they produced a stirring comeback to win 2-1 at Burton Albion.

Josh Magennis’ header on the stroke of half-time canceled out Billy Bodin's early free-kick, before Millenic Alli produced a moment of utter brilliance to seal a crucial win as City came from behind to claim all three points and send the Grecians home happy for Christmas!
