Bags of cracking odds with City's betting website
Hello there. Mr Red here, again. Did you back any of my winners last weekend, such as Cardiff’s away win at Leicester, or Sheffield United’s win over Crawley? Unfortunately I didn’t foresee AFC Wimbledon v Port Vale getting rained off, but you can’t get ‘em all right.
So here’s a few other little tips for today’s match action on a Boxing Day fixture card, through Bet Butler and Exeter City’s betting site: exetercity.betbutler.co.uk.
City won 4-2 at the Kassam Stadium earlier this season; okay, so our ho-ho-home form isn’t the best, but with a bumper crowd through the gate and a festive nip in the air, I’m pretty confident in the Grecians taking the point today as 2012 draws to a close. At 7/5, betting on Exeter to win at home looks a more-than-fair price.
With almost a full docket in the Premier League, it’s hard to know what to pick as a good shout. Plenty of great odds there – off the back of an 8-0 win against Aston Villa, Chelsea to win at Norwich looks tempting at 4/6, or high-flying West Brom winning at basement club QPR at 9/4 also seems like a generous offer. But I really like the look of Southampton away at free-falling Fulham, at 10/3 – that might well backfire, but at such long odds, it could be worth a cheeky bet.
Revenge is a dish best served cold. Or in Birmingham’s case, it would be a dish best served hot, like a piping cup of Bovril. And they’ll be after revenge when they travel to Oakwell today, after having been hammered 5-0 at home by Barnsley earlier this season, with Brum-born Craig Davies doing most of the damage. Blues’ squad is a little thin at the moment with a bit of an injury crisis going on, but the youngsters earned a draw with Burnley at the weekend and 19/10 seems a decent shout for Lee Clark’s boys to take a win.
Brentford are unbeaten in nine, including four straight wins in League 1. Their hosts Colchester, on the other hand, have lost five straight games and are plummeting like a rock towards the drop zone. So it seems like a steal for at 23/20 to back the Bees to win at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
League 2 table-toppers Gillingham are available at 4/9 to win at home against struggling Barnet. The Gills haven’t lost since the Grecians went and won at Priestfield last month and Barnet’s win in their last match against Burton Albion was their first win in seven. There’s always the danger of the coupon-buster, of course, but at those odds, it’s surely worth a shout to back the league leaders?
Either way – be lucky this Boxing Day. And remember, every time you win, we win too!
All odds correct at the time of writing. Exeter City and Mr Red encourage supporters to bet sensibly and within their means.
