Amankwaah and Baldwin on board
Exeter City this afternoon clinched the double signing of defenders Kevin Amankwaah and Pat Baldwin on free transfers.
Amankwaah began his career with Bristol City and has gone on to make over 250 appearances for the likes of Swansea, who signed him for £250,000, Yeovil and Swindon.
The Ghanaian spent half of last season as a regular for Burton Albion in League Two and then made 16 appearances for Rochdale in League One.
The 30-year-old right back, who can also play in the centre of defence, has featured against the Grecians on a number of occasions, most recently in Rochdale's 3-2 win over City in April and one of his 11 career goals came here at The Park for Swindon in a 1-1 draw in 2009.
29-year-old Baldwin, who made nine appearances for the Grecians last season on loan from Southend, was also a free agent after his contract expired.
He began his career at Chelsea before spending ten years at Colchester United and making over 200 appearances.
Baldwin spent time out on loan at a number of clubs including Bristol Rovers where he partnered Danny Coles at the heart of the Gasheads' defence - a partnership that is likely to be rekindled during the coming season.
He then made the move to Southend who loaned the experienced centre back to St James Park during the climax to the 2011/12 season.
