Danny Coles talks to Grecian Player
Danny Coles was delighted to see Exeter doing the business at both ends with the 2-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon. It was the first time that City had kept a clean-sheet since Aldershot visited St James’ Park in September and the club captain was pleased with the performance that sent the fans home happy after a chilly midweek fixture. And he was particularly enamored with the striking prowess of Jamie Cureton at the other end of the field.
“In previous games we still created chances, but for whatever reason we weren’t getting the rub of the green,” he told Fullsy.
“Credit to Curo. He’s an unbelievable finisher. The second he went through, I said to myself: ‘goal’. A class finish by a class striker.
“I genuinely didn’t see [Wimbledon] scoring to be honest. I felt comfortable, I felt we shut everything out, got important blocks in at times when we needed to, and we cleared our lines when we needed to.”
