Pete Evans will leave St James Park today
Pete Evans, Exeter City’s club journalist and website/programme editor, is moving on to pastures new today to take up a football journalist role at the Press Association and the club have begun planning their next step.“It is not only our home-grown players that are moving onto bigger and better things but our home-grown staff as well and we wish Pete all the best as he follows in the footsteps of a number of Grecians,” Chief Executive Julian Tagg said.
“Pete has done a phenomenal job in a number of different multimedia areas for the club over the last three and a half years.
“The fact we have 12,700 Facebook fans and 7,200 Twitter followers shows that Pete has been particularly adept at running our social media to interact with fans and promote the club.
“He has also had responsibility for all aspects of journalism across the club – a challenge in itself.
“As editor he has updated and reshaped the programme into something that continues to be the envy of many football clubs.
“And having increased the hits and income from the website significantly during his tenure, Pete has spent the last few months getting to grips with the issues that we all understand are associated with a new-look website and set-up.
“Pete has had a wide, varied and massive brief that he has handled with aplomb."
The application period for Pete's replacement ended on Wednesday.
