Grecians add winger to the ranks
Exeter City have today (Friday) added David Wheeler to the squad at St James Park.
The winger was plying his trade with Staines Town last season, and now links up with City in time for the big kick-off against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Fans that attended the friendly fixture against Swansea City will have seen him in action already, as he came on as a second-half sub for the Grecians whilst on trial. He also featured in City’s second pre-season friendly, away at Clevedon Town.
Manager Paul Tisdale lauded the addition to the squad. He said: “Dave is strong and he’s quick, but he’s also bright. He’ll work for the team – he’s infectious and hard-working and has something about him.”
Subject to paperwork being finalised, Wheeler will be eligible for selection for the opening day fixture against Bristol Rovers.
The game kicks off at 3pm at St James Park. Click here for ticketing detail. Tickets can still be purchased online, but will need to be collected on matchday.
