Coles has knee operation

Captain to spend spell on the sidelines

Exeter City skipper Danny Coles has undergone a knee operation which will keep him out of first-team action for around a month.

The arthroscopic surgery has been deemed necessary to correct a long-standing knee problem, which Coles has been playing through for a number of weeks.

Manager Paul Tisdale said: “It is a great shame to lose Danny for the immediate future, but it is essential for his long-term health to have his knee trouble corrected.

“He has been playing through considerable pain for the team recently so it is important that we safeguard his wellbeing rather than doing further damage.  But we will look forward to welcoming Danny back into the fold very soon.”
