Commentary course at SJP

Join Alan March and learn the tricks of the trade

Have you ever imagined yourself being the one to call the shots over the mic in a Devon Derby?  Or describing the action across the airwaves as Alan Gow hits a screamer from outside the box?  Or being the one to tell the world about an unbelievable Artur Krysiak save?

We’re pleased to be hosting a commentary course at St James Park on Tuesday 10th December between 9.45am and 4.45pm, run by Alan March.

With a maximum of 10 people in the class, it’s a small and intimate session which guarantees maximum learning.  It will be a mixture of practical exercises for audio-descriptive (AD) skills and non-AD skills, which will equip the class with the ability to commentate.

Alan March has been the AD commentator at Wembley Stadium since it reopened its doors in 2007 and has worked on over 100 games.  He is also the in-venue commentator (non-AD) on swimming and diving for British Swimming, and worked on Olympic and Paralympic aquatic events, as well as being the voice of ITV show ‘Splash’ with Tom Daley.

The course costs just £50 for the day (£40 for students) and isn’t recommended for people under the age of 15.
