Park hosting CAMRA festival

Exeter Festival of Winter Ales at the Park

After the roaring success of last year’s event, the Exeter & East Devon branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) are once again hosting their Festival of Winter Ales at St James Park this weekend.

The 24th edition of the festival is taking place on the evenings of Friday 18th and Saturday 19th January, open from 11am–11pm on both days.  Admission is £2, or CAMRA members can enter for free.  Students can also enter for free with a valid NUS after 5pm on Saturday.

Like previous festivals, CAMRA are providing over 60 beers which are produced solely in the winter months.  Beers of all styles and strengths will be on offer, supplied by many local breweries as well as nationwide beers.

The Chairman and organiser of the festival Phil Roberts sadly passed away this year.  To mark their respect, Exe Valley Brewery are producing beer named “It’s Phil’s Ale”, made to Phil’s very own recipe.

In support of cider lovers and those that like something different, there will also be about 12 ciders, perries and ginger beer on offer.
