‘Cycling the 92’ reach Exeter

Fundraisers drop by at St James Park

Exeter City were pleased to welcome more fundraisers to St James Park earlier this week – coming in the form of David Clarke and Peter Cooper, who are in the process of cycling 2,400 miles to reach all 92 grounds in the Premier League and Football League.

It is an unprecedented feat to do all of the 92 in a single sitting, which hits home the scale of the challenge they are attempting.

They were greeted on Monday at Reception and treated to a whistle stop tour of the ground and a cup of tea, before hitting the road again for their next leg of the journey.

So far, the pair have raised well over half of their target of £10,000 for charity Edgar’s Gift.  The charity was established in 2010 in memory of David’s step-brother Ben Edkins, who passed away after a year-long fight with cancer.

Edgar’s Gift raises money to provide special days out and unique experiences for young adults that are suffering with cancer.
