Grecians to be hosted by the Magpies in friendly fixture
Exeter City will travel to Dorchester Town on Monday 8th July (kick-off 7.45pm) for a pre-season friendly.
The Magpies hosted the Grecians early on during the pre-season for 2012/13 at the Avenue Stadium too, with City triumphing 4-0 on that afternoon.
Jake Gosling opened the scoring for City on that occasion with a sublime strike; the youngster went on to impress on loan with Dorchester later in the season (including netting an FA Cup first round winner against Plymouth Argyle), before breaking into first team at St James Park during the latter part of the season.
Jamie Reid also spent a period on loan with the Blue Square Bet South side during the 2012/13 campaign, and former City man Richard Logan played six games for the Magpies last season too. Dan Green, Arran Pugh and Ben Watson – who work for Exeter City and the club’s Football in the Community department – are also on the books at the Avenue Stadium. Tom Nichols has spent two spells in recent years with the Magpies too, including at the end of the 2012/13 season.
It is scheduled to be the first pre-season game for the Grecians, with the friendly against QPR at St James Park booked in for later that week (Thursday 11th July, 7.30pm).
