Grecians hosting Southampton at SJP
Exeter City will be hosting Southampton in the Round of 32 in the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Wednesday 20th November (7pm kick-off).
The Grecians’ under-21s saw off local rivals Torquay United by a 4-1 scoreline in the first qualifying round, and upset the odds by overturning a strong Crystal Palace squad at Selhurst Park in the second qualifier. Matt Jay netted a second-half winner after a first-half brace by Tom Nichols, as it ended 3-2 to City.
The Saints will provide stern opposition for City – they have a Category 1 Academy and in recent years have spawned youngsters including Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott, and more recently James Ward-Prowse and Luke Shaw.
Admission will be charged at £5 for adults and £1 for all concessions, with all entry being paid on the Stadium Way turnstiles on the night of the game.
