Prices ahead of midweek cup fixtures
Just because Exeter City are no longer in the Capital One Cup this season, it doesn’t mean interest has to end there for Grecians supporters.
With loads of great odds and markets from Football League title sponsors Sky Bet, there is plenty still to capture to the imagination and give a chance for City fans to win.
Here are some little tips ahead of the midweek ties:
• Samuel Eto’o was one of Chelsea’s more noteworthy signings this season, though he is yet to find the net for his new club. As the Blues travel to Swindon Town, the Cameroonian striker is 7/2 to open the scoring in the Capital One Cup tie, which is live on TV.
• Tottenham Hotspur have made a notable start to the season. In eight games, they have won seven, and in the process have scored 16 whilst conceding just one. Spurs are 11/4 to win to nil against Aston Villa in the Midlands on Tuesday.
• The biggest upset of last year’s competition was arguably the result in the final, as Wigan overcame Man City to lift the silverware at Wembley. The Latics have since been relegated to the Championship, but they are 12/1 to repeat last season’s feat of knocking out the Citizens when they travel to the Eithad.
• Wednesday night’s TV game sees the latest rendition of an old rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool. Luis Suarez is due to make his return after his ban – the Uruguayan hitman is priced at 6/1 to score the final goal of the game. And United won this derby 2-1 when they played the Reds home and away last season – odds are currently 15/2 for Moyes’ boys to do the same again.
