FITC hosting tournament in aid of Prostate Cancer UK
We are delighted to announce that Exeter City FC, through Football in the Community, are one of only six clubs nationally to have been asked by the Football League to organise a football tournament in aid of their chosen charity for this season, Prostate Cancer UK (PCUK).
This will take place at St James Park on Sunday 27th April 2014, following the final home game of the season and we are looking for people, teams and local businesses to take part in the event, which will start at 10.30am.
On the day, we will be running two men’s competitions, one for Over-16s and one specifically for Over-35s, and the format will be six-a-side, with a maximum of 10 people in a squad. Places are limited and the entry cost will be a minimum of £200 per team.
All team registration money will go to PCUK and the aim is for each team to raise as much sponsorship money as possible for the charity, through fundraising in the run-up to the event and on the day. The two top-fundraising teams in each competition will be allocated the Grecians’ home and away dressing rooms – we are hoping you will be as innovative as possible in raising money. A factsheet with fundraising ideas is available on request.
There will be various sponsorship and hospitality opportunities for local businesses and on the day there will be activities and entertainment taking place, including ground tours. Food and drink will be available throughout the event.
